Brisbane Is Laying the Table — and June Is the Reason to Show Up

Phillipe Blake· Chief Editor2 June 2026

There's a specific kind of pleasure in discovering a city through its food — not through a listicle, not through an algorithm, but through the slow, unhurried act of sitting down and ordering something you've never tried before. Brisbane is offering the whole city as your dining room this June, and the program to help you navigate it has never been more generous.

Now in its sixth year, Dine BNE City returns from 1 to 30 June 2026 with a record 130 exclusive offers and special dining events spread across more than 80 of Brisbane's CBD restaurants, bars and cafes. The scale is impressive. The variety — from a $1 hash brown to a $150 chef's table — is the real story.

Morning, Noon, After Dark — and Everything In Between

The 2026 program introduces a brand-new Morning Edition, which might be the most quietly radical thing on the menu. Brisbane's CBD has long been underestimated as a breakfast destination, and Dine BNE City is making a case for it. Goldie & Gather Bistro at 360 Queen is offering a $1 crispy hash brown with any drink order. Riverbar & Kitchen brings it up a level with corn tostadas topped with fried eggs, guacamole, relish and sweetcorn salsa paired with a coffee for $25 — or a fresh watermelon mimosa for $30 if you're that kind of person on a Tuesday morning.

The returning Let's Do Lunch program is exactly the kind of nudge overworked city workers need to step away from their desks. Stilts is serving a truffle risotto finished with Pecorino, peas and truffle carpaccio topped with toasted hazelnuts — plus your choice of house beer, wine or sparkling — for $40. Central 中環 is doing a 250g steak Cha Chaan Teng style with wine for the same price. Marhaba Café has a double bacon BLT with beer-battered chips and a Bundaberg Brewed Drink for $22.

After dark is where things get properly interesting. Supper Club invites you to linger past the dinner rush at some of the city's best rooms. Doughcraft's Nonna's Favourites — arancini, lamb ragu pappardelle and classic tiramisu for $78 per person — is the kind of three-course Italian feast that justifies cancelling whatever else you had planned. Tillerman Seafood Restaurant and Bar offers a late-night set menu of ceviche, octopus and swordfish steak with a complimentary glass of wine for $49 per person. Mulga Bill's is doing a hearty meat paella for two with drinks, dining riverside, for $41 per person.

The 4pm problem — too late for lunch, too early for dinner, too early to go home — is solved by Bar Safari. The Brasserie Bar at Naldham House is pairing mini cocktails with tapas including olives, prosciutto, manchego and chocolate truffle for $24 per person. Blackbird Brisbane's contribution is the Adult Happy Meal — boujee chicken nuggets or a cheeseburger, both with fries and a glass of sparkling wine for $35.

The Events Worth Clearing Your Calendar For

Three Special Events stand out as genuinely unmissable.

Donna's Dumpling Academy at Donna Chang on Sunday 21 June is an elevated yum cha experience blending Cantonese and Sichuan flavours in one of Brisbane's most beautiful heritage dining rooms. Guests step inside the kitchen for a chef-led masterclass before sitting down to a banquet. $125 per person.

The Marvelous Mushrooms Chef's Table at The Brasserie at Naldham House on Thursday 25 June builds an entire 4–5 course experience around seasonal mushroom varieties in creative dishes. $150 per person.

Closing out the month on Tuesday 30 June, The Great Steak Showcase at Blackbird Brisbane puts Executive Chef Jake Nicolson behind the wood fire for an evening celebrating wagyu rump cap, sirloin and eye fillet with curated sides and paired wines. $109 per person.

Why This Year Feels Different

Michael Tassis, founder of the Tassis Group — which operates 13 dining venues across Brisbane — captures it well:

"In a busy world, sitting down over good food and drinks gives people the chance to slow down and enjoy meaningful time together. That's what hospitality is all about."

Brisbane Councillor for Central Ward Vicki Howard put it plainly: the CBD is full of hidden dining gems and this program is the excuse to find them. Thirty days, 130 offers, 80-plus venues. The only real question is where you're starting.
